Check this chick out

So I have this way cool friend from high school named Naureen Meyer and she is an amazing artist who does art how I think. Okay, actually that's not possible for anyone to do art the way I think, but I think she comes the closest out of everyone. You should check out her site where she sells her stuff. Maybe one day I'll sell something. Like one of my thoughts for a penny. Get it? Nevermind.

You've Got Mail

This is a project for graphic design that we did. It was supposed to be a "brochure" that was promoting a change consultancy. The objective was to make a brochure that wouldn't be automatically thrown out due to its boringness. So I went all out, and yes my brains were out by the time I was done with it. I took an actual mailbox and had a nice boy named Sam help me cut it down. The "text" inside were postcards that I made; I took pictures that I had and made them look cheesy postcardish.

On the back I had my roommates write out stuff that was supposed to be included. I also bought real postcard stamps, and here is were it gets real exciting- I actually did the postmarking stamping thing all on my own. It took some time and money to figure it out, but I'm pretty darn proud of it. For our final presentations of the project our teacher did hold up my mail box and asked the class if that thing landed on their desk if they would open it. Of course who wouldn't open a shrunk-ated mailbox, so I therefore met the main objective, even though the rest of the project might have not met perfect standards. And this folks, is what I do day in and day out. If you want to see a more detailed image of the postcards just click the picture.

23 are two numbers next to each other

Well today was my 23rd birthday. I feel somehow different. Maybe it's just gas. But I didn't want to let the chance go by to post a blog on my birthday, even if it is 12:57 am Sunday morning and technically not my birthday anymore. I mean I'm not going to get a chance to do this kind of thing for a whole year. Kind of makes you want to cry if you think about it. Basically I'm just still writing to see if you're still reading. I guess it would show me you're a true friend, you have no life, or you have been caught by my mysterious red head ways. Happy 23 to me.

The Bird has Landed!

For Advertising we had to come up with a clever billboard for anything that we wanted. I decided to advertise Dove Chocolates as an excuse to buy a bag so I could take pictures. All chocolates were eaten in the making of these projects. So the first image is a regular billboard that says "the bird has landed" and you're thinking "well that's weird, what bird has landed?" And then about a mile or two down the road you see this GIANT Dove chocolate in it's candy wrapper nest in a tree and then you realize, "why yes, the bird has landed". Now the only question is, has it landed in your mouth?

Georgie's B-day!

So it wasn't really Georgie's birthday, but it was her very belated birthday cake. This isn't any kind of cake, the bottom layer is oreo with fudge sauce, then a whole thing of chocolate ice cream with raspberries and more chocolate sauce, then another layer of oreos and fudge sauce, then a whole thing of strawberry ice cream (because they didn't have any raspberry ice cream this time!) and then another layer of oreos with fudge sauce and more raspberries. Basically taste testing heaven.
